Learn to create a wonderful bracelet that is constructed from a flat Peyote stitch base with a series of Brick stitch triangles that form four-sided pyramid shapes. The shapes can be filled with special beads of glass, semi-precious, pearl, or metal beads. The spaces in-between the pyramid shapes and along the long edges of the bangle are embellished with small beads and seed beads.
Chantilly Lace Workshop
INSTRUCTOR: Cynthia Rutledge
TIME: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
COST: $50 members; $85 non-members
KIT PRICE: $85
The focal points of this lovely necklace are delicate lace-like medallions.
They are composed of a graduating series of Herringbone medallions that are linked together with beaded chain. The center medallion supports a beaded drop that starts with a Brick stitch ladder then moves into Herringbone for the finishing edge. Two toggles link the last medallion to form a double closure.
Seating is limited in these classes and available on a first come first serve basis.

July 21st- Kumihimo Demo by Bonnie Heidler
Creating things has been a life long passion for Bonnie. At age 7, she started doing crewel embroidery. She moved into knitting and knitted her first sweater at age 8.
In high school, Bonnie started needle pointing. She became very passionate about it and during college worked in a needlepoint store selling and teaching. For many, many years she created a lot of needlepoint pieces, designing some of her own.
Beads came into her life through her Mother. Her Mother was always into jewelry and found someone who was stringing semi-precious pieces. Bonnie bought a few and showed them to a friend of hers who was doing the same thing. She asked her to go to a bead show in Santa Monica, California, which is where Bonnie is from originally. Her friend said "Pick out anything you want and I‘ll make it for you." Bonnie later learned that she had gone to the Gem and Jewelry show, which is like a mini-Tucson. She didn’t become hooked, just overwhelmed.
Five years later, she moved to Colorado Springs and went into a bead store and became HOOKED. That was almost 12 years ago. In 1998, Bonnie opened her own bead store in Colorado Springs, called Bonnie’s Beads, Inc. After eight years in business, Bonnie closed the store in October, 2006 and moved to Prescott Valley.
She has been teaching basic stringing, beginning peyote, Japanese looming, and wire wrapping for the past eight years. She has studied Kumihimo, which is a Japanese braiding technique for several years and prefers using beads versus fibers.

May 19th- PMC Demo by Marian Ward
Jewelry artist Marian Ward moved from New York to Sedona, Arizona in 2001. Although jewelry has always been a passion for her, Marian did not start working on her jewelry designs full time until she was surrounded by Sedona’s beautiful red rocks. In her work, Marian uses a range of precious metals – gold, fine silver and sterling. Most of her pieces also incorporate gemstones.
Marian’s jewelry is currently in the Sedona Arts Center Gallery and Gallery 527 in Jerome, Arizona. Her jewelry is in private collections around the world.
